“It’s going to be O.K.”

Sitting in the waiting room of my dentist years ago, the current circumstances of life were suffocating my daily attempts at survival. Spiritual logic shouted factual words of “Peace Be Still…” “My peace I give you...” while overwhelming loneliness fought emotional hopelessness. God hears our hearts, when words have no reasoning or vocal expression.

Suddenly an “angel in disguise” quietly took the seat next to me. Looking up, I recognized this person as an elderly pastor’s wife from years past. With a soft smile she greeted me, then reached over and gently took my hand in hers. “you must know child…you are right in the palm of God’s protective hand. Trust Him.”

Those words breathed hope into my struggling heart.

A movie viewed years ago that gave me hope was The Letters – telling the life story of Mother Teresa. In the movie, letters written during her lifetime and opened after her death, revealed her repeated struggle with hopelessness, loneliness and the painful silence of God during her exhaustive service for Him. This actually gave me hope – that even warriors of faith struggle. Warriors get battle weary.

Words of affirmation, hope and encouragement are critical.

For us…for others…for survival.

Do you need a word of hope today? A word of encouragement? Do you need verbal assurance that you will survive and soon thrive again?

Remember…

I’m Listening.
