Hit or Miss

This short story is one of my favorites…

A college professor had a wife who was hard-of-hearing. His dream was to perfect a hearing device so that his wife could adequately hear. He devoted every spare dollar and every spare moment he had to working on his dream. History books tell us he failed in this venture, but he was far from being a failure. Alexander Graham Bell missed one goal, but mankind benefited enormously because he dedicated himself to seeking a solution to a problem. He aimed to help his loved one and missed. Yet, his continual determination to make solutions in future years, which seemed like Misses, became the forerunner of many great Hits represented by his inventions.

Many moments seem like failures at the present time.

Things are left undone…

Goals that are unattainable…

Interruptions in life that stall our progress…

As years pass we realize those moments, or seemed Misses, were actually building blocks upon which our future successes were built. Our seemed Misses evolve into life’s Hits.

Be encouraged today.

And remember….

I’m Listening.
