Investing Forward

This past week, a giant in in the faith, Dr. Charles Stanley went home to be with the Lord. Watching clips of his life’s history and ministry reminded me of the importance of investing forward.

In an interview with Dr. Stanley, when asked what life advice would he give and how did he want to be remembered he replied:

“To obey God and leave all the consequences to Him. I hope my life has reflected that theme.”

Obeying God for over 90 years proved to be a path of security for Dr. Stanley. His life demonstrated that where God leads He not only provides, but will take care of all the consequences. Dr. Stanley’s life example of daily obedience and commitment to the Lord is proof that it is possible to invest forward.. into our eternal “bank.” Deposits of obedience will yield a guaranteed return. Heaven keeps accurate records. A life honoring God daily shouts…

“I believe God will have the last word. He will control what I cannot control.”

…no matter the circumstances, no matter the battles, no matter the pain, no matter the uncertainty….forward investments will compound for all of eternity.
